Due to growing needs to have accurate and reliable assessment and diagnostic services for clients that came her way, Dr. LaRosa began a postdoctoral re-specialization program in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2014. She studied under Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg who she sought as a mentor after her studies were completed.

“Dr. Goldberg’s ability to pinpoint neuropsychological connections to my client’s behavior and learning interferences was extraordinary, and it inspired me to continue learning from him. I found that is made the treatments and learning plans more highly effective and I wanted to extend this vital perspective to as many clients as I could reach. If Applied Behavior Analytic programs were based on neurocognitive assessment results and were used as an adjunct to treatment, I have no doubt that progress would be more notable.”

When treatment is prescribed without knowing the way each client learns and processes information, stagnation and goal failure will result. Therefore, progress is more readily achieved when an individual neurocognitive profile is utilized to make treatment decisions.
