Not all autism evaluations are created equal. A diagnosis and the quality of the report can influence treatment, educational planning, and access to services for years. The qualifications of the professional leading the evaluation matter.
At Goldberg & LaRosa Psychology Associates, evaluations are led by licensed doctoral-level psychologists with advanced expertise in clinical neuropsychology, psychological assessment, educational psychology, and complex developmental conditions.
Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg is an internationally recognized neuropsychologist known for his work in brain function and executive functioning. Dr. Vanetta R. LaRosa, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA, is a licensed psychologist and educational psychologist with postdoctoral specialization in clinical neuropsychology and more than 20 years of professional experience.
Dr. LaRosa founded Helping Hands Children Services in 2004 and also founded Helping Hands Licensed Behavior Analyst Services. Through this work, she has helped children, families, and school districts address developmental, learning, and behavioral needs. Our team includes experienced school psychologists, educational psychologists, doctoral-level behavior analysts, and assessment specialists.
We don’t just screen for autism. We evaluate the whole child.
A screening questionnaire alone does not establish an autism diagnosis and is generally insufficient for ABA therapy authorization. Our individualized evaluations consider autism alongside ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, language differences, emotional concerns, and other complex conditions.
We begin with secure telehealth intake appointments and complete suitable components remotely when clinically appropriate. Advanced in-person testing, including ADOS-2, is available when indicated. Our reports may support ABA authorization, school planning, and OPWDD applications. Approval is determined by the relevant insurer or agency.
Autism Screening Pricing
- Initial autism screening: $175
- Complete autism evaluation: $2,150
If you proceed with the full evaluation, the $175 screening fee is credited toward the total, leaving a remaining balance of $1,975.
Screening is not a diagnosis. An itemized receipt and superbill are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Goldberg & LaRosa Psychology Associates, PLLC is a New York–based practice providing comprehensive evaluations for children, teens, adults, and older adults.
We work with individuals with autism, developmental and learning disabilities, memory concerns, traumatic brain injury, and other cognitive or behavioral challenges. We also support families, schools, and agencies that need clear, well-supported evaluations for planning, decision-making, and access to services.
Our work is individualized, clinically grounded, and designed to provide meaningful answers with practical recommendations. In addition to neurocognitive evaluations, we also offer psychoeducational assessments and forensic diagnostic evaluations.
Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Neuropsychology, and his bestselling books have been translated into 24 languages.
